| Message | I walk the course (time permitting) 2-3 times before I make my first run. I also pre-register for the 2nd heat and work the course the first heat. This allows me to watch other vehicles and learn from their mistakes. Also, those cars will 'clear' out the course of pebbles, rocks, and anything lying on the ground. Lastly, I don't like running in the 3rd or 4th heat cuz these generally start after noon, so the temp is hotter (less power); hotter surface also makes the tires less sticky. sporty, don't go out there expecting to be the best driver around. You'll definately learn how bad your actual driving skills are (don't take offense to this). After 5-6 events, you'll start to get the feel of the vehicle and post some respectable times (hopefully). Talk to the other racers if you have any questions. They can help you adjust tire pressures to how your car is handling or they can give tips on what driving line to take, etc etc.. you'll learn A LOT from the vets.
